3 Am pickleball is now possible

PLUS: lights, marsh announcements, and your construction report

24_7_Dink_Pickleball_Rendering

Good Friday Morning. This is Fishers Digest. I bet there’s at least one thing in today’s newsletter that you will want to go to. If I’m right, forward this email to a friend you want to go with!

In today’s digest:

  • 3 am pickleball
  • Hamilton Humane needs your help
  • Weekend preview — loads of events
  • AI sponsorship

🕛️ Thank you to our readers for catching these errors from Tuesday!

  1. You CAN bring spray sunscreen to the 500. Aerosols are a no
  2. The Marsh we referred to on Tuesday is at 116th/Brooks School, not Olio! The content is still correct though (read on for that!)
  3. The Fishers Community Chorus is at 7:30 pm next Tuesday, not 7:00 pm

The Digest

Now you never have to stop playing Pickleball

24_7_Dink_Pickleball_Rendering

Let’s goooooo! Twice in one week there are announcements for ex-Marsh buildings Fishers is finally healing 🙏 24/7 DINK will be a pay-as-you-play facility opening this fall in Fishers, Indiana. For just $2.50/hr you can go straight from Joe’s Bar and Grill at 2 am and have a time. During peak hours, that price gets bumped to $15/hr.

This brings the tally to seven places in Fishers you can easily play pickleball in Fishers.

  1. Cyntheanne Park
  2. Holland Park
  3. 24/7 DINK*
  4. Chicken n’ Pickle*
  5. Mashcraft Fishers
  6. Fishers YMCA
  7. Cage Campus

Fun fact: The only other place we could find that’s open 24 hours in Fishers (other than a gas station) is our local Anytime Fitness.

The greatest spectacle in adoptions

If you’re from Indiana, you know the Hamilton County Humane Society is one of our greatest treasures. As one of the only no kill shelters in the country, it’s a popular spot for animals to be brought to. But they’re critically over capacity right now. They’re looking to put the pedal to the metal with adoption fees this week at just $33. One for every driver in the Indy 500.

When does the beach open? 🩴

Geist Waterfront Park Beach

Soon. Very soon. On May 25th, the Geist Park Waterfront Park beach will officially open for the season. Swimming hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and the whole park is open dawn to dusk.

Thanks to the city, the beach is now free for all except on peak hours — which is Memorial Day weekend, July 4th weekend, and Saturday/Sunday between 1-6 pm.

Tacos and burritos are sandwiches. And it’s the law

This is a bit outside your usual Fishers news, but too hilarious not to share 😂 A judge in Fort Wayne just ruled that tacos and burritos are officially sandwiches. I mean, what’s next? Declaring cereal a soup?

What do you think? Is this an outrage? Answer in the poll below. Leave your funniest comments, please!

Door one or door two?*

vinyl_1_vs_vinyl_2

House one used an off the shelf paint. It probably looked great at first, but the problem? Traditional paint absorbs heat and melts the plastic siding. What you see is warping. Only way to fix? Replace the siding. The cheaper option now is rarely the cheaper option in the long run.

House two used Spray-Net. Their proprietary coatings were tailor-made for the needs of that surface. For vinyl siding, they have a patented process and proprietary coating that allows for them to paint darker colors, without warping your siding. They will typically save you between 50-75% compared full replacement (home one might need that now). All backed by a best in class 15 year warranty.

If your home has faded or mismatched siding, call Spray-Net.  Get a free consult by calling +1 (317) 408-4631 today. Or on the Spray-Net North Indy website.

Do your weekend plans involve peonies? Well they definitely should since this weekend is the Indiana Peony Festival. SO much has gone into this event — even Gov. Eric Holcomb declared that the third Saturday in May will now be known as Indiana Peony Festival Day. Here’s just a few things to do:

> View and enjoy peony plants, growers, rations, kids activities, horticulture classes, and food and spirit trucks

> Enjoy outdoor dining and live music provided by over 30 vendors

> BYOS (bring your own stem! to compete in the 2024 People’s Choice & Judge’s Choice awards

> Do the famous “Peony Trail”, scanning a QR code to check in at each location

> A fun idea for the kids: Grab a map on the courthouse lawn and get it stamped with at least 15 of the required vendors for a chance to win peony-themed prizes.
