The Digest

Murder suspect arrested at Topgolf

Detectives from Kentucky were able to track down a 25-year-old murder suspect who escaped to Indy.

With the help of Indy’s FBI office and Fishers PD — they were able to track him down at TopGolf last Saturday. He was arrested with no incident.

Speaking of: Registration for the Fishers Cadet Program is now open until September 1st!

Library cooldown

John Green (and many more) continue challenging Fishers and the HEPL Library over moving his and other authors’ books. Fortunately for Fishers, the national news coverage is cooling off.

Why it matters: The policy and outrage are developing a rift in the city. Board President Laura Aldering has blamed library staff for making a judgment error — and promises to address it. Additionally, the library has yet to vet 75% of its content. The work will cost anywhere from ~$100-300k. Whether you are for or against moving the books — it’s costly.

Go Deeper: Mayor Fadness has spoken up — stating he’s encouraged that the board will re-evaluate the youth and teen policy in their next board meeting. If you want to go to the next board meeting and share your thoughts, here are the details:

HEPL Board Meeting | Thursday, August 24 | 6:15 pm | 1 Library Plaza, Noblesville, IN 46060 (Noblesville Library)
