The Digest

Be the future

Want to shape the future? Hamilton County is looking for passionate residents to play a key role in our local government. How?

  • Engage in one of the numerous committees, boards, and commissions.

What’s in it for you? pulls out crumpled coupons, used chapstick, a few dollars in change… JK. A unique chance to serve and be the voice that connects officials to residents. Submit your application by November 15th.

The HamCo rizz 💸

One big thing: You need serious cash to own a home in Hamilton County.

Exactly four homes in HamCo are for sale under $200k. On the flip side, there are ~75 homes for sale over 1 million. The nationwide trend of escalating home costs is straight-up amplified here. Here’s a snapshot of the year:

  • 223 sales over 1,000,000
  • 88 sales below 200,000

And let’s talk about the median. Which is nearly twice what it is statewide 🤣 Home sales in Hamilton County reflect the national real estate story of too many people chasing too few homes while interest rates are rising. Buyers at 8% rates AND in Hamilton County are either stable enough to “date the rate” or have big cash reserves.

Last Farmers Market of the year From 8 to noon at the NPD Amp. In honor of it, here’s a haiku from ChatGPT 😂 (because I am not a poet):

Harvest moon above
Fishers’ market’s final bow,
Cool winds softly blow.
