A New Volleyball Era in Indiana

Indiana’s very own professional volleyball squad, Indy Ignite, is making the Fishers Event Center their new home court. Starting January 2025, they will host all their home games there and become the heart of volleyball action in Fishers, Indiana. They now make the second team that is “Indy” based to announce their home stadium in a different city. The other is the Indy Fuel, who have no plans to change their name either.

The announcement was made Wednesday morning at the Fishers Event Center itself. It was a sneak peek into the future with an exclusive hard-hat tour of what’s destined to be the epicenter of Indy Ignite’s operations.

Voices of Enthusiasm and Commitment

The event was graced by notable figures including Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness, Jen Spicher (CEO of Pro Volleyball Federation), Jim Schumacher (Co-Owner of Indy Ignite), volleyball star Kenzie Knuckles, and Mary Kay Huse, the General Manager of Indy Ignite. They collectively painted a picture of fierce competition and deep community connections that Indy Ignite aims to foster in the Indy region.

Mary Kay Huse emphasized the team’s role in uplifting the spirit of the local volleyball community: “Indy Ignite isn’t just for Indianapolis. It’s a torchbearer for every young athlete across Indiana – giving them a place to belong, to be inspired, and to revel in top-tier volleyball.”

The Fishers Event Center: A Hub for Sports and Entertainment

Scheduled to open in November 2024, the Fishers Event Center will not just be any venue. It promises to be the largest mid-size event center in the region, accommodating up to 7,500 fans. Nestled in the $550 million expanded Fishers District, the center will be at the heart of excitement with shopping, dining, and entertainment options galore. Fishers has had the task of ensuring the stadium is properly filled, and this new announcement with the Ignite helps with that.

The Event Center plans to offer experiences beyond volleyball, including an exclusive sports bar, VIP courtside lounges, and family suites. It aims to be the shared home of not only Indy Ignite but also the ECHL Indy Fuel hockey team and the Fishers Freight Indoor Football League team, ensuring a year-round calendar of family-friendly events.

Welcome Aboard, Indy Ignite!

Mayor Scott Fadness hailed the addition of Indy Ignite to the Fishers community as the beginning of a new chapter in sports entertainment, foreseeing the team as a catalyst for vibrant community engagement and entertainment.

In a heartening display of support, local volleyball teams, including champions from Hamilton Southeastern High School, joined in celebrating this milestone. It was a powerful message: Indy Ignite is here not just to play but to inspire, to challenge the status quo, and to build dreams.

As one of the three new teams making their debut in the Pro Volleyball Federation come January 2025, Indy Ignite is inviting fans to be part of this journey from the ground up. Season ticket deposits are now open, with the chance to join the exclusive Indy Ignite Founders Club.
